The Asbury College Collegium Musicum Vocal Ensemble was established in 2000 and is based in Wilmore, Kentucky, close to Lexington. The Vocal Ensemble is an a cappella choral chamber choir comprised of 16-18 student singers and is under the direction of Dr. Vicki Bell.
While the focus of the repertoire is the choral music of the Renaissance, established masterpieces of all periods, as well as new works, are performed. The Vocal Ensemble supplements its on-campus performance schedule with occasional off-campus events, as in the spring of 2005, when the singers performed at the Washington National Cathedral. The choir has sung evensong at Trinity Episcopal Church in Danville, and also participated in the Music at St. Paul’s Series at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newport, KY, as well as the Cathedral Concert Series at the Church of Christ the King in Lexington.
